This is probably the easiest appetizer out there… but certainly a crowd pleaser with its freshness.
Needed ingredients: washed cherry tomatoes, small fresh mozzarella balls, washed and dried fresh basil leaves, balsamic reduction sauce.
*If you are wanting to make your own balsamic reduction sauce: Take a large stock pot… Heat up the pot and add your balsamic vinegar. Turn the heat up and let the vinegar start to boil, then reduce the temperature to medium. Add a sprinkling of granulated sugar to the vinegar. With a whisk, consistently stir the liquid until the sugar has dissolved. Continue to simmer, uncovered, until about ¾ of the vinegar has evaporated. Remove from heat and let the reduction cool.
On small, thin skewers, thread one end of the basil leaf, half of a tiny ball of mozzarella, your cherry tomato, the other half of the mozzarella ball, then close it with the other end of the basil leaf. Drizzle with your balsamic reduction.
